Annapurna Base Camp Trek 7 days Itinerary
Day 01: Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Siwai and Trek to Chhomrong
Altitude: 2177m, Chhomrong
Trekking duration: 3 hrs
Today our car will pick you from the hotel and drop you to the Kathmandu airport where you will take a flight to Pokhara.
It is a short and scenic flight that takes around 25-30 minutes to reach.
Pokhara also called the lake city is a popular tourist and holiday destination. Once you get to Pokhara our guide will pick you up from the airport and you will drive for around 2 hours straight to Siwai.
Siwai is the starting point of your trek. From here you will start hiking towards Chhomrong which will take about 3 hours.
Chhomrong is a small and beautiful village from where you will get spectacular views of the mountains in the Annapurna region. Here you will be able to witness the lifestyle and culture of the Gurungs.
Overnight at a lodge in Chhomrong.
Day 02: Trek to Himalaya
Altitude:2920m, Himalaya
Trekking duration: 6-8 hrs
Today after breakfast you will continue your trek to the next destination i.e Himalaya. The trail first drops down on the stone-paved stairs till Chhomrong river and then elevate through Khuldi Ghar.
After crossing the steel suspension bridge you will gain the elevation of 2340m of hilltop village called Sinwa. This trail is gradually inclined but long. This uphill part takes about 2-3 hours which is also the longest uphill on the whole of this short ABC trek.
After Sinwa the trail will go little up and more down to the next stop called Bamboo. Here you will have your lunch.
From here, you will cross another small stop of Dovan and after about 2 hours you will reach Himalaya.

Day 03: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
Altitude: 4130m, Annapurna Base Camp
Trekking duration: 6-8 hrs
As always, after breakfast, you will start your trek to the final destination i.e the Annapurna Base Camp.
First, you will mount up to Deurali at 3230m. It will take you about 4 hours. And after a short break, you will further continue your trek to reach Annapurna Base Camp.
You will walk along the Machhapuchhre Base Camp where you will stop for lunch. From here you can enjoy the Himalayan peaks of Annapurna Range like Gangapurna, Annapurna III. Also Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Gandharva Chuli, Himchuli, Annapurna South.
Annapurna Base Camp is just two hours walk from here. Upon reaching ABC, you will get an overwhelming view of the Himalayas.
Also if the weather is good you will witness a superb sunset view which will make the short ABC trek memorable and picturesque.

Day 04: Trek to Sinuwa
Altitude: 2350m, Sinuwa
Trekking duration: 4- 5 Hrs
Today you will wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise view in the Annapurna Base Camp which will be a mind-blowing experience.
After that, you will get back to the hotel and enjoy your breakfast and hot drink in the Annapurna Base Camp.
Later you will continue your trek down to Sinuwa which is a beautiful village. It will take around 4-5 hrs to reach there. The trail at first is mostly downhill. You will walk through the forests for a while and then follow the trail.

Day 05: Trek to Jhinu Danda
Altitude: 1760m, Jhinu Danda
Trekking duration:4-5 hrs
From Sinuwa, following the stone steps to Chhomrong will be downhill and then uphill walk. You will climb up through the steep trail to reach the upper Chhomrong.
Then you will descend through the steep trail to reach the destination i.e Jhinu Danda.
In about 20 minutes walk from Jhinu Danda you will enjoy a natural hot spring bath. This will heal your muscle sore after the week-long trek. This place is famous for hot spring which takes 30 minutes to get on the riverside pool from your tea house.
After the bath, you will walk another half an hour uphill climb to Jhinu Danda where you will spend the night.
Day 06: Trek to Siwai and Drive to Pokhara
Altitude: 900m, Siwai
Trekking duration: 4-5 Hrs
Today is the last day of your trek which will take you back to the civilization of beautiful lake city of Pokhara. Siwai is the same place from where your trek started.
And this is also the place where you will end the beautiful and memorable trek. You will walk for about 4-5 hours and then take a drive which is about 2 hrs to Pokhara.
Upon reaching Pokhara you will check in to the Hotel. You can take a short rest and later take a relaxing walk around the lakeside.

Day 07: Fly Back to Kathmandu.
Flight Duration: Approx 25 minutes
Today after a delicious breakfast in the hotel in Pokhara, you will move to Pokhara airport and fly back to Kathmandu. With this, it is time to give a farewell and wish you a safe travel back home.

The highest elevation you will reach during the trek is 4130m. And in most days you will be walking around 6-7 hrs. Walking in the higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes.
Positive attitude, self- confidence, and determination add into making this trek a lot comfortable.
Doing some exercises like hiking, climbing stairs and working on your strength and stamina can be useful. And trekkers with a pre-existing medical condition should consult their doctor before taking the trip.
How Much Does it Cost?

Of course, the price will vary according to group size, standard or deluxe tour plan and the duration of the trek.
Also, taking a flight to and from Pokhara saves your time but at the same time increases your expense. The cost of a flight is around USD 125 for foreigners. While taking a bus ride reduces the trip expense. It would cost from USD 15- 25 per person.
To take the Annapurna Base Camp trek you need two permits. They are Annapurna Conservation Area Project (USD 20), USD 2 ( SAARC nationals ). And the Trekkers Information Management System Card (USD 20/p)
If you hire a guide the cost will be approx USD 25 to 30 while hiring a porter would cost slightly lesser i.e USD 15-20.

What Do I Need to Pack for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
Packing wisely plays an important role in making your trekking experience comfortable. Since you are trekking from lower altitude to higher altitude it is best to dress in layers.
The higher altitude experiences colder temperature. It is important to pack warm clothing and gear such down jacket, fleece, and thermals etc.
