Day 01: Fly Kathmandu-Paro
On the first day of your Bumthang Cultural Trek, you will fly to Paro. You will catch a flight from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
You will have the breathtaking views of Himalayan ranges such as Mt. Jichu Drak and Chomolhari. Upon your arrival in Paro, our guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 02: Paro sightseeing
On the second of your Bhumthang Cultural trek, you will explore around Paro. You will visit Drugyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Kyichu Lhakhang is one of the holiest and sacred temples in Bhutan.
On the same day, you will visit the National Museum and Paro Rimpung Dzong as well. Both the museum reflect the unique art and architecture of Bhutan. The museum consists of several unique collections of ceremonial objects.

Day 03: Paro – Thimphu
Early in the morning, you will take a short hike towards Taktsang to visit the famous monastery, “ Tiger’s Nest”. It is a holy and sacred monastery that dates back to the 17th century. The monastery was built in the memory of Guru Rimpoche.
The trails are quite easy today but might be a bit muddy. You can also hire a pony if you are unable to walk. After having your lunch, you will drive towards Thimpu. Thimpu is a captivating town that sits in the center of Himalayas.
Overnight, you will stay at a hotel in Thimpu.
Day 04: Thimphu – Tongsa (129km)
Early in the morning, you will take a drive to Trongsa. You will have to cover a distance of 129 kilometers today. You will drive along the Dochu La and Peli La Passes that rewards you with the best views of Himalayan ranges.
You will stop at Chendebje Chorten to have your lunch. Along the way, you will also be able to see a stupa like that of Boudhanath. After 7-8 hours of drive, you will finally reach Tongsa.

Day 05: Tongsa – Bumthang
After having your breakfast at Tongsa, you will visit the Trongsa Dzong. It is the largest Dzong in Bhutan and holds a collection of historical artifacts of the Royal Family. After exploring the monastery, you will drive towards Jakar. Jakar is the major trading center of Bhutan. You will drive towards the Yotong La Pass at the height of 11685 meters. From here, you will proceed towards Bumthang.
Bumthang is a spiritual place and is home to the oldest Buddhist palaces, temples, and monasteries. You will visit the Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Lhakhang that contains several Buddhist wall paintings as well.

Day 06: Jakkar – Ngang Lhakhang 2900m.
Today, you will trek towards Ngang Lhakhang from Jakkar. Ngang Lhakhang sits at an altitude of 2900 meters. The route today involves walking along the river bank of Chamkhar Chu.
You will walk along the forest of pine and scrub bamboo. The route will take you through meadows, local villages, temples, and monasteries. It will take you around 3-4 hours to finally reach Ngang Lhakhang.

Day 07: Ngang Lhakhang – Ugyenchholing 2850m. via Phephe-la 3340m.
Today, you will ascend towards the forest of Juniper and Phephe La Pass. Phephe La Pass sits at the height of 3360 meters. On reaching the top, you will descend towards the Tang Valley. From Tang valley, you will finally descend towards Ugyenchholing.
Overnight in a camp by the side of a river.
Day 08: Drive to Jakar 3 – 4hr ride
On the eighth day of your trek, you will hike up to the Tang Ugyencholing Palace. Tang Ugyencholing is a beautiful private mansion. It consists of a tiny museum that portrays the traditional rural life of Bhutanese people.
After exploring the palace, you will drive towards Jakar. Along the way, you will visit the Mebartso which is a lake. It is a very sacred and holy Bhutanese lake. You will continue driving towards Jakar for about 3-4 hours.

Day 09: Afternoon drive to Tongsa(68km)
You will have your morning breakfast at Jakar. After having your breakfast, you will drive to Tongsa.
Overnight, you will stay at a tourist lodge in Tongsa.
Day 10: Drive to Thimphu (198km)
On the tenth day of your Bumthang Cultural Trek, you will drive to Thimphu. You will drive via Punakha which is the old capital of Bhutan.
After having a scenic drive to Thimphu, you will stay at the lodge for overnight stay.
Day 11: Early morning drive to Paro
Early in the morning, you will have your breakfast at Thimphu. After having your breakfast, you will drive to Paro.
On reaching Paro, you will board a flight to Kathmandu. You will have a scenic flight from Paro to Kathmandu.
