Then, you will trek to the Langtang Himal area as you approach this region via the Langtang Khola. For several days, you will trek along a gradual winding path through the dense oaks, birch, pines and rhododendron forests of the Langtang National Park. After a trek of 3 days in the Langtang region, you will reach at Kyanjin Gompa (3,749m). Kyangjin is the perfect base for acclimatization in a beautiful surrounding of high snow-covered mountains. It is also a perfect destination for making and plans of explorations and climbs in the upper valley. The Kyanjin Gompa monastery is located on the ridge top formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders. You can get fantastic views of icefalls and the gigantic glaciers of Langtang Lirung from Kyanjin village. You can also trek up to Kyanjin Ri (4,350 m). It is the most wonderful vantage point in the trek to view the surrounding glaciers and mountain peaks.
The culture of the Langtang area is quite diverse. This region is home to 3 different ethnic groups- the Tamangs, the Yolmus, and the Bhotias. Most people have their origins in Tibet. These people are followers of Buddhism. So, a visit to the Langtang region is a chance to explore Tibetan Buddhism in this region. Langtang region is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The park consists of plant species like Chir Pine, Rhododendron, Nepalese Alder, Oak, Silver Fir, Hemlock and Larch. Langtang region is also well known for its populations of the red panda, Himalayan black bear, wild dog, Himalayan Tahr, goral (mountain antelope) and more than 250 species of birds. From Kjanjim Gompa, you will trek for a few days to get to Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda is a holy lake of Hindus. The full moon as per the Nepali Lunar calendar is when a lot of pilgrims come to pay homage and take a ritual bath at Gosainkunda pond. People also believe that drinking the holy water at Gosaikunda relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes. From Gosaikunda, you will make your journey past villages like Ghopte Odar, Kutumsang, Chisapani, and Sundarijal before finally arriving at Kathmandu valley.
