Nar Phu Valley and Annapurna Trekking: Great Adventure Treks & Expeditions invites you trekking in the most classic and promising trips in the Himalaya best-hidden route to another side of Annapurna on the off route from Around Annapurna trail, offering grand views of the three highest 8000m mountain range from Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Manaslu mountain range, including arrays of over 7000 to 6000m snow capped peaks. The trail follows the river Marsyangdi near to Chame town-village from here on the road to the hidden Shangri-la to Nar and Phu valleys this region of ethnically-Tibetan inhabitants.
This trek is a combines of remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, yaks, gompa (monastery) an ultimate Himalayan cultures & religions with its ancient heritage, the walk leads to a bridge leading over the Marsyangdi River to steep portions of the Nar Phu valley system, in the narrow and forested then the valley opens up to a huge expanse of high snow-peaks, old Tibetan traditional villages and high altitude grazing settlements, here spending with rest days visiting villages with ancient cultural background, this region was first explored by Tilman in the 1950s. Closed to trekkers until late 2002, very few westerners have trekked these almost untouched villages and surrounding area, Great Adventure Treks & Expeditions continue this adventure into a remote region of upper Manang, staying at the winter settlement of Nar, and visit one of the less frequented interesting regions in the Tibetan Buddhist world.
Great Adventure Treks & Expeditions to Narphu joins the Annapurna Circuit (Around Annapurna) route at Manang via Kangla Pass 5, 306m and to Ngawal 3,660m, and then at Thorungla the highest point of this trip at 5,416 meters / 17,740 ft. From here the trail descends most of the way to the holy site of Muktinath. Muktinath holy waterspouts are one of the sources of the Kali Gandaki River as well. This grand trek follows the world’s deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki River valley and then to Jomsom for the flight back to scenic Pokhara and to Kathmandu.
