Panch Pokhari is also one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Himalayas. It has earned equal honor by both Buddhists and Hindus. Generally, the Tamang Community (Shamans) visit these lakes in the month of August during the festival of Janai Purnima. Furthermore, the Festival draws hundreds of villagers to offer their respects and prayers to their local Gods.
About Panch Pokhari Trekking
We can arrange Panch Pokhari Trek as both a camping as well as a home-stay trek. The trek starts from Chautara at an elevation of 1200m passing through charming villages and rolling green hills. We will be visiting Buddhist monasteries and learn about Tamang & Sherpa culture and customs. The trek is also exceptionally rich in bio-diversity. Rhododendrons, Nepal’s national flower and Danfe which is Nepal’s national bird, are both found in the Panch Pokhari area.
There are plenty of historical places, waterfalls, and caves waiting for you to explore. Settled at an elevation range of 4100m, Panch Pokhari offers embellished and stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal Himal, Rolwaling, and Gaurishanker ranges. Trek Starts From 1,400 m And Goes Up to 4,000m. Usually, this trek starts from the altitude of 1,400 m and goes up to 4,000m at Panch Pokhari. Meanwhile, the top of Panch Pokhari (4100m) offers an excellent view of Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range, Gosainkund, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu. This trek is for the all-round year except for monsoon.
