Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventurer Col. James O.M. ‘Jimmy’ Roberts in the year 1950. And exposed to the world as the ‘Sanctuary of Gods’.  The Sanctuary has been christened as “Annapurna Sanctuary” ever since.

As this trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is a popular choice among the trekkers due to its varied sceneries of landscapes, vegetations, villages, people and constant views of the high snow-capped peaks, the land, and its people change daily offering the travelers an interesting and exciting introduction to Nepal’s cultural and natural beauty.

Starts From Pokhara

The Great Adventure Treks & Expeditions adventure trip to the Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary starts from Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the most amazing and scenic spots in Nepal and probably on this planet. Adventure combines spectacular mountain scenery with incredible and cultural diversity and traverses through rural farms and villages. On reaching the Base Camp and into the Sanctuary offering you amphitheater of snow peaks Annapurna I (26,545ft-8,091m)

Other major peaks overlooking the Sanctuary include the Annapurna south (23,693ft-7,219m), Gangapurna (24,457ft.-7,455m) and Annapurna III (24,787ft-7,555m). This area is also referred to as the Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) Base Camp. Our return journey, descend through the lush terraced Modi Khola valley and finally concluding the adventure at Pokhara. A popular destination with its famed Phewa Lake, dominated by the towering mountain range of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu range including the majestic peak Machhapuchare (Fish-Tail).

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu meet our staff and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m. 5 – 6 hrs journey 220 k.m.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and start 3 hrs trek to Tirkhedhuga 1,450m.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m.  approx  6 –  7 hours walk.

Day 06: Trek to Ponnhilll and Tadapani 2,630m. approx 6 –  7 hours walk.

Day 07: Trek to Chomrong 2,170m. approx. 5 – 6 hours walk.

Day 08: Trek to Himalaya 2,930m. via Bamboo 2,050m approx. 6 hours walk.

Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m. 3 – 4 hours walk.

Day 10: Trek to Bamboo. Approx. 6 hours walk.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu  Dada 1760m (Natural hotspring) 1,500m. Approx. 5 – 6 hours.

Day 12: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara 6 hours walk with 1 hour drive.

Day 13: Free and leisure day at Pokhara

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport meet our staff with GA complimentary transport transfer to relevant Hotels, our guide will give you a briefing of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Trekking, and related information that you might require while in Nepal with us.

Day 02: Half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu

Early morning, after breakfast, you will be taken for a cultural tour of Kathmandu city. Some of the main highlights will be Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square,  Patan Durbar.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m. 5 – 6 hours journey 220 k.m.

The morning after breakfast, transfer by private vehicle to Pokhara on the busy scenic highway, an interesting drive through the towns and farm villages with views of snow-capped mountains. The road has been greatly improved in recent years, or take a flight to Pokhara instead. On arrival at Pokhara transfer to the Hotel by the lake Phewa for the overnight stop, afternoon free at leisure.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m. and begin the trek to Tirkhedhuga 1,450m.        

After breakfast drive of near 2 hrs leads you to Nayapul (new bridge) to start this wonderful adventure, the walk passes through the busy areas encountering all types of people from local, trekkers and mule and donkey trains, the path joins at Bhirthati village from here follow west the main trail an old Trans-Himalayan trade route path, trek follows the main route through several farm villages and waterfalls till Tirkhedhuga is reached for the overnight stop. Approx. 3-4 hours walk.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m. approx 6 –  7 hours walk.

Today one of the hardest walk up to a steep climb for 2 hrs on the paved stone steps unto Ulleri village, from here the path winds gradually through the cool rainforest with few ups and downs, and finally reaching Ghorepani, an altitude gain as you can feel cold in temperature and in the change of vegetation, a wonderful walk to here in the midst of the rhododendron. After the overnight stay at Ghorepani.

Day 06: Trek to Poonhill for sunrise and Tadapani 2,630m. approx 6 –  7 hours walk.

Early morning hour hike to Poonhill 3,190m for sunrise over the great panorama of the Himalayas from Dhaulagiri-Annapurna to Manaslu mountain range. From here return back to Ghorepani for breakfast, after Ghorepani the walk follows to upper ridge through rhododendron forest, the path narrows downhill through the temperate rain forest, stepper path in some places, then reaching at Bhanthahti in the middle of the forest, after a short break for lunch then on the gradual trail for an hour to a small stream in the middle of the rhododendron forest, an hour uphill walk to Tadapani. Tadapani is in the middle of the forest of Rhododendron, Magnolia, and Oaks. From this place, a grand view of Annapurna South and Machhapuchare (fishtail) can be seen at a close distance.

Day 07: Trek to Chomrong 2,170m. approx. 5 – 6 hours.

The trek from Tadapani is gradual downhill most of the way to through pristine forest of oaks and rhododendron with the occasional view of the Annapurnas. This part of the walk is very pleasant till Kimrong Khola is reached for lunch. The trail from here leads uphill for 1-2 hours, once at the top of the ridge the walk is fairly easy all the way to the village of Chomrong the last village and the gateway to the Sanctuary.

Day 08: Trek to Himalaya 2,930m. via Bamboo 2,050m. approx. 6 hours walk.

From Chomrong the trail leads to the terraced farm fields as you descend to the river, after the bridge it’s uphill most of the way for 2-3 hours till a small place of Sinuwa is reached, after Sinuwa the trail leads downhill for 1-2 hour through the bamboo bushes till you reach Bamboo, a place in the mid of the bamboo, rhododendron, and oaks forest.  After a brief stop here an hour walk on the gradual uphill path brings you to our overnight halt at Himalaya, an isolated spot with 2 teahouses, in the midst of the forest near the raging Modi River.

Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m. 3 – 4 hours walk.

Today’s walk leads you in the heart of the Sanctuary at the ABC, the trail follows uphill for few hours, on the snowy grassy path, depending upon the season, the trek is very pleasant as you reach the higher ground with magnificent view of an array of snow peaks all around you with Annapurna I, a great wall of a mountain from this north west face. Annapurna Base Camp has 2-3 teahouses, with the superb panorama. After a great time here retrace the journey back to Machhapuchare Base Camp for the overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Bamboo. Approx. 6 hours walk.

After a lovely time in the tranquility of the mountains and in its serene wilderness trek back to the lush green vegetation, the walk is more or less downhill with few ups to Bamboo for the overnight.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda 1,760m. via Chomrong. Approx. 5 – 6 hours.

From Bamboo, the morning walk leads to a short climb to Sinuwa, the trail descends all the way to the bridge, from the bridge uphill walk to Chomrong. After a break here at Chomrong the walk leads to a short uphill, descend towards Jhinu Danda. You can visit the hot springs down below by the river Modi from Jhinu Danda. overnight stay at Jhinu Danda (hotspring).

Day 12: Trek to Trek to Nayapul 6 hrs walk with 1 hr drive to Pokhara.

On our way to Naya Pul from Jhinu Danda, we get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. We have lunch on the way. Our trek will end at Naya Pul where we board our vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13: Free leisure day in Pokhara.

A free leisure day in Pokhara guided tour on request in and around Pokhara Valley.

Day 14: fly to Kathmandu from Pokhara 

After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to a hotel or go for sightseeing tour as per your request.

Day 15: Transfer to Airport for International departure.

Today as per your international flight time, our GA staff will transfer you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
