Itinerary
Drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola
Your Manaslu Circuit Trek begins with a long but scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola. After breakfast, our team picks you up from your hotel and you leave the bustling capital behind. As you move out of the city, the landscape transforms into terraced hills, lively roadside markets, and lush green valleys. The river views—especially of the Trishuli—make the journey extremely enjoyable. With several breaks along the highway, you travel for 10–12 hours before reaching Machha Khola, where you settle in for your first night.
Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat
Your first trekking day on the Manaslu Circuit Trek starts by crossing the Machha Khola. The trail leads you through Khorla Bensi, followed by a relaxing stop at the natural hot springs of Tatopani. As the path becomes steeper, you cross the Budhi Gandaki River via several bridges, pass through dense forests, and arrive at Dovan for lunch. After climbing stone steps and walking along the riverbank, you eventually reach Jagat—a charming stone-paved village where you spend the night.
Trek from Jagat to Deng
The Manaslu Circuit Trek continues with a morning crossing of the Budhi Gandaki River. You climb steadily toward the Budhi Gandaki Valley, passing the village of Rana and several Mani walls. After arriving in Ghap for lunch, the trail takes you toward Prok Village, with countless gompas scattered along the way. As you move through thick forests and narrow gorges, the path gradually steepens. By evening, you reach Namrung, known for its beautiful stone houses and warm hospitality.

Trek from Namrung to Shyala
After breakfast, you walk toward Bhanjam Village through dense pine forests. Passing the Namrung checkpoint, you begin a steep ascent toward Lhi Monastery, where stunning views of Himachuli and nearby peaks greet you. Continuing through Sho and Lho villages, you encounter monasteries, Mani stones, and grazing yaks—hallmarks of the higher Himalayan culture. As panoramic views of Manaslu, Manaslu North, and Naike Peak unfold, you reach Shyala for the night.
Trek to Sama Gaun via Pungyen Gompa
Today features one of the most scenic sections of the Manaslu Circuit Trek. After witnessing a breathtaking sunrise in Shyala, you ascend for about an hour to reach Pungyen Gompa. The trail offers dramatic views of the snow-covered mountains and the impressive Pungyen Glacier. From the monastery, you admire Manaslu, Ngadi Chuli, and Himalchuli before continuing on a comfortable trail toward Sama Gaun, where you rest for the night.
Acclimatization Day – Hike to Manaslu Base Camp
Your acclimatization day in Sama Gaun includes an adventurous hike to Manaslu Base Camp. The trail begins with a flat section before rising steeply toward the base camp. As you climb, you are rewarded with incredible views of Manaslu, Naike Peak, and Pangpoche. At the base camp, you’ll see the colorful tents of mountaineers preparing for the Manaslu Expedition. After exploring the glacier and surrounding scenery, you return to Samagaun for another night’s stay.
Trek from Sama Gaun to Samdo
You begin Day 8 with a stop at the serene Birendra Lake, surrounded by snowy peaks. After enjoying the peaceful setting, you resume your trek toward Samdo. The route follows the Budhi Gandaki River and includes short ascents until you reach this traditional Tibetan-influenced village. In the afternoon, a short acclimatization hike to the Samdo viewpoint helps your body adjust to the altitude before returning to your teahouse.
Acclimatization Day – Hike to the Tibetan Border
Another acclimatization day takes you toward the Tibetan Border. You explore Samdo Village, visit monasteries, and then ascend gradually for several hours. The route offers sweeping views of Mt. Samdo and Gyala Peak. After reaching the border area and soaking in its remote atmosphere, you return to Samdo for the night.
Trek from Samdo to Dharmasala (Larkya Base Camp)
Today’s trek is short but important for acclimatization. You walk past Mani walls, small villages, and buckwheat fields as you follow the Larke River. Eventually, you reach Dharmasala, the final stop before crossing the Larke La Pass. The afternoon is free for rest, as a big day awaits tomorrow.
Cross Larke La Pass and Trek to Bhimtang
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Starting early, you gradually ascend toward Larke La Pass, with views of Larke Peak and surrounding glaciers enhancing the experience. After 4–5 hours, you reach the pass, where a 360° panorama of Kang Guru, Himlung, and Cheo Himal awaits.
The descent to Bhimtang is steep but incredibly scenic, passing Ponkar Lake and wide open meadows. By evening, you reach Bhimtang for a well-earned rest.
Trek from Bhimtang to Tilije
The trail descends through lush forests, waterfalls, and small farms with spectacular views of Manaslu, Cheo Himal, and Himlung Himal. After crossing a suspension bridge and walking along peaceful forested paths, you arrive at Tilije for an overnight stay.
Trek to Dharapani and Drive to Besisahar
A gentle descent through farmlands brings you to Dharapani, a village also known for being part of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. After lunch, you take a scenic Jeep ride to Besisahar, enjoying views of rivers, hills, and rural settlements throughout the drive.
Drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu
Your final day includes a relaxing drive back to Kathmandu. The rivers, terraced hills, and greenery outside your window make the journey pleasant. Returning to the city marks the completion of your unforgettable 14-day Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Good experience in Buthan tour
I joined the tour of Buthan for 3 nights. Although the price is high because I am in a solo trip, the quality is good! Buthan is the cleanest country in the world! You don’t need to worry about anything just be happy and excited to join the tour! I just went for 3nights-tour, but I did visit Paro, Thimpu, Punakha ! Although not every sighting sites that would visit, the important sites would not miss! This is my second time join the tour in this travel agency, and I was satiated with it every time ! They will handle everything well.
