Everest Region Treks

The moment one hears a name of Everest it is enough for anyone to picture a moment standing in a place on top of the world with peaceful environment and breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains. Everest which stands 8848Mts high has other names popular in Nepal it is popularly known as “SAGARMATHA” in Nepali meaning “Higher than the Sky” and “CHHOMOLUNGMA” in Tibetan meaning “Mother Goddess of the Earth”.

The route stretches in the highest wildlife reserve in the world, the “Sagarmatha National Park.” It covers an average area of 1,148 sq. km. of Himalayan ecological zone. The park altitudes ranges from 2,845m at Monju to the top of the world, UNESCO listed the park as a World Heritage Site in 1979 for its unique natural, cultural and landscape characteristics. It is also the home to two eight thousand meters giants Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Lhotse (8,516m) besides these there are several other famous peaks above 6,000m. Apparently Everest region trekking changes trekkers some sort of self- pretentious because being near and around to the highest part of the world provides a sense of delight and glorifying achievement.

The trek in this region pursue through the track of the Dudh Kosi, the ‘River of Milk’, gradually climbing through forests covered by rhododendron and magnolia. It takes one to the foothills of the mightiest of the mountains in the world. Through the trail, one passes through rhododendron and pine forests, crystal clear water rivers, Sherpa villages and Buddhist Monasteries from temperate to snow line regions. Trekkers acquire a spectacular close view of the world’s greatest mountains, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache and many other unnamed mountains and peaks.

The people of this exotic province, the hard crumble in the daily life in the high Himalayas is interrupted by seasons of feasts and festivals, marked by dancing and general merry making. Most of the festivals are of religious importance and celebrated in the temples and monasteries, with rites conducted by lamas (priests). These festivals are extended through the full moon days of May, June, July, August and November in different sections of the Himalayas. While the Sherpas are the most prevalent inhabitants of Solukhumbu, in the lower region of Solu, the Khaling Rai culture reign as well. In Khumbu which has a limited land for agriculture, livestock raising and trade is more imperative, while Solu with less severe winters grows a mixture of staple crops.

Expeditions in Nepal

Not all can go for this adventure but we at Great Adventure treks and Expedition (P.) Ltd. helps and makes it possible for our valued clients to make their dream come true. It is the most demanding yet very exciting and challenging adventurous activity.

Nepal is enriched with 8 out of the 14 highest peaks in the world and thousands of mountaineers visit Nepal to comprehend their dream of standing on the summit of Himalayas. The world’s supreme mountain Mt. Everest (8,848m), the 3rd highest Kanchenjunga (8,586m), the 4th Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), the 5th Mt. Makalu (8,463m), the 6th Cho Oyu (8,201m), the 7th Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the 8th Manaslu (8,163m) and the 10th Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) respectively are located in Nepal!

Thousands of trekkers and mountaineers come to Nepal every year pursuing to climb both the trekking peaks and highest mountains such as the Mt. Everest. Special permits are required for climbing these peaks. Presently almost 300 trekking peaks are being operated by Nepal Mountaineering Association (A Government Recognized Body). However for peaks over 7000m, government itself regulates the issuance of permits.

Great Adventure Treks and Expedition (P.) Ltd. operates mountaineering expeditions with experienced climbers and mountain guides. Our mountain guides and Sherpas have years of experience in operating such expeditions successfully. We arrange a special meeting between our clients and Climbing Staffs before we actually go for the adventure so as to make sure there is a complete understanding between the two parties and the Guide illustrates every way to avoid blunders while in action and even have Short Codes of Emergencies if in case is required. Depending on your interest and your level of physical and mental fitness as well as technical skills, we can offer you varied choices and options.

Home Stay in Nepal

A Home Stay truly is the cultural trade in which one person visiting or temporarily staying in another country lives with a family in the host country. The actual concept of home stay program is considered to be an alternative to hotel accommodation in the hospitality industry. It’s one of the exceptional opportunity based mostly in an urban towns and villages. This concept has been instigated effective from August 17, 2010. The prime intention of home stay is to enhance rural people’s participation in the tourism sector. Nepal offers two types of home stay Community Homestay and Private Homestay. The concept has brought drastic change in economy of the people living in rural area as it enhances employment in many folds.

Living in a Nepali village as a home stay guest is unquestionably the quickest way to know the real Nepal better. The plans of daily activities in the home stay have always been the major attraction for tourists. What more to expect when you are with a room typically based into some culture unlike yours and you learn things new every hour. The rooms are ensured to be hygienically clean and cozy and typical foods and facilities and safety in the room.

Sirubari and Ghalegaon are the pioneer villages in this concept and has always been the favorite ever since. Regardless you have lots of options these days which can be arranged as per your time interest and budget. Chitwan, Makwanpur and Nuwakot have individually more than a dozen places to stay. Gorkha, Ilam, Palpa, Syangja, Kailali and Kalikot too are offering you the facility of home stay. Surprisingly Kathmandu itself offers more than a dozen Community Home Stay and few Private Home Stay lately.

Langtang and Helambu Region Treks

The Langtang Valley lies to the North of Kathmandu extending to the borders of Tibet. It is a beautiful alpine region which includes some principal examples of temperate and sub alpine vegetation. Trekking in Langtang ensures you a trek across a less crowded hiking trail which indeed is a beautiful land. Langtang region is easily reachable from the capital city Kathmandu, its Southern border is located only 32 kilometers away from the valley. Langtang though is one of the most accessible trekking regions but it offers a wasteland experience without the sometimes grueling travel involved.

The Langtang Region is protected and also known as the Langtang National Park which spreading around an area of 1,710 sq.km. Although this region is close to Kathmandu, its hiking trails are not very teeming as most of the trekkers visiting Nepal choose to trek around the Annapurna and Everest region. Trek to Langtang can be started from Kathmandu where you can drive approximately 40 minutes from a place called Sundarijal or Dhunche/Syabru Benshi which requires about 6/7 hours drive. Trekking for Tamang heritage and Ganesh Himal trek also starts from Syabru Benshi. Langtang region inhabited mostly by ethnic groups and mostly follows traditionally Tibetan Buddhism. Most people from this region depend on agricultural and some are into tourism professions like running of lodges for tourism purpose.

A visit to the Langtang valley offers an immense opportunity to survey the Tamang culture and their villages, climbing small peaks and visiting glaciers at a more comfortable elevation than other exhausting trekking regions. Treks may vary in this region, some can return to the road head at Dhunche for the journey back to Kathmandu or alternatively continue exploring extending a further six days to trek through the Sacred Lakes of Gosainkund (4300 meters) and the Helambu region. Helambu region lies to the south of the Langtang region; it is a flourishing area to the north of Kathmandu inhabited by Sherpa and Tamang people. The Sherpas of this region surprisingly are very different in their day to day practices from their cousins in the Everest region. The region comprises beautiful forests and very lively and interesting villages. This area is easily accessible from Kathmandu and is ideal for people with less time to spare in Nepal.

Peak Climbing in Nepal

Nepal is world wildly known as the world’s best destination for expedition and peak climbing. Peak Climbing in Nepal is a mesmerizing dreams for many mountain rambler. Peak climbing normally means climbing peaks which are basically above the height of 5,500m and below 7,000m. Nepal has blessed in abundance with peaks hence has opened around 1310 peaks that are above 5500m for peak climbing. Some of these smaller peaks also referred as ‘trekking peaks’ are governed by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), a private body entrusted to promote mountaineering and preserve mountain environment. Among them, 33 peaks have been labeled ‘A’ and ‘B’ peaks by Nepal Mountaineering Association. The climbing permit for these 33 peaks is issued by Nepal Mountaineering Association and the rest is handled by the Government of Nepal.

Basic mountaineering skills such as using ice axes, walking on crampons, utilizing rope techniques, glacier walking, rock climbing etc are required for the Peak Climbing Adventure. With our team of experienced Sherpas and guides, these mountains can be climbed by both experienced as well as novice climbers. These peaks are especially appropriate for those who do not have longer time and limited by physical ability but still interested in climbing and experiencing mountain expedition.

Climbing peaks will also obviously involve trekking letting you have the experience of trekking and climbing at the same time. Great Adventure Treks & Expedition has been organizing peak climbing successfully for many years with experienced Sirdars and climbing Sherpa guides. Whether you are a beginner or a professional climber, we can help you achieve your dream of reaching the summit. Peak climbing can be arranged either as an individual or group. We arrange all the logistics from climbing equipments to assembling the climbing permits from Nepal Mountaineering Association and the concerned government department.

The best season for Peak Climbing in Nepal is either in the spring (March, April and May) or in the autumn (September, October and November). Climbing peaks categorized as A, B and Others. (Note: ‘A’ and ‘B’ peaks climbing requires special climbing permits while ‘Others’ peaks climbing do not)

Tour in Nepal

Tour in Nepal

Nepal is the eventual destination for the travelers form any part of the world and tourists enjoying holidays in a beautiful land-locked country. Decorate along the spinal column of the high Himalaya, Nepal is a land of inspiring scenery, time-worn temples, deepest gorge, highest lake, eight out of ten highest peaks and some of the best challenging hiking trails on the earth. Nepal globally might me one of the poor country, but it is uniquely rich in scenic brilliance and cultural treasures.

Nepal is situated between India and Tibet, the Kingdom of Nepal is filled with as many different ethnic groups, customs and traditions as it is diverse in geography. Ranging from the hot Indian plains and sweltering southern Tarai lowlands, the topography crosses the Kathmandu Valley and rises to the frozen altitude of the Himalayan peaks towards the beautiful Tibetan plateau known as the ‘roof of the world’. Dispersed across these diverse altitudes are communities of colorful cultures and people, many even untouched by the modern development; vibrant cities and towns, and remote mountain villages.

Life here revolves around an elaborate intermingling of ancient Hindu and Buddhist religious rituals. Several festivals are celebrated throughout the year colored by a diversity of religious and tribal traditions. The capital of Kathmandu accumulates a mixture of these different societies together into a exciting collection of brilliant sights and exotic stench, with modern shops co-existing with street sellers, while astounding Buddhist temples, holy Sadhus of the Hindu faith and medieval palace squares fill the urban landscape.

What makes Nepal a perfect destination is the blazes it has of its own kind which can possibly not be found in any other countries. Major people imagine tours to be limited to marking shapes and beauties of Monasteries and Temples but we at Great Adventure Treks & Expedition have wider vision of tours. When we talk about tours, we talk about enjoying the flora and fauna of the nature, having adventure in Chitwan, discovering new ways of entertaining our guests, visiting Nagarkot for an extravagant view of the Himalayas, visit Pokhara and tour around lake which is no doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Historic and religious tour is yet another part where Nepal tops the world. Lord Buddha was born in Nepal, Buddha is the symbol of peace. Swyambhunath, Boudhanath temples are equally fun to visit and enjoy the view of the city, Nepal has the oldest and highest mountain Mount Everest 8,848 meters. Pashupatinath is yet another icon for Hindu Religion, sitting by the bank of river Baghmati gives one another peace of mind and pleasure. Book tours from a wide range of most interesting tours in Nepal of your preference. We have a selection of the very best Nepal tour packages that you could possibly imagine about. Nepal is been blessed by has everything: the high Himalayas, beautiful city, green valley, semi desert and truly diverse culture where each culture teaches you different ethnicity and values.

What more can one want when one is surrounded by Himalayas, the panoramic view of Himalayas is just breath taking and mesmerizing. The panoramic views of the mountain and a diversity of beautiful landscapes will fascinate you and make your visit one of the most romantic and memorable that you have experienced.

Cultural tourism opens up to a great diversity of each part of Nepal, from the west to the east, or from the south to the north, showing its own cultural environment. More than one hundred five ethnic groups and around 100 languages, Tradition, religion, beliefs, customs, language, social organization, lifestyle and people are important aspects of Nepal’s culture.
